Riftail

(NEEDS UPDATE)

Riftails are flying squirrel-like arboreal creatures with broad, flat tails and sharp calls. They nest in canopies and serve as common, high-calorie prey. They’re long-bodied climbers with narrow waists and powerful hind legs. Their tail is flattened sideways into a fan shape, with iridescent feathering along the edges. Their head is angular with a sharp nose, long whiskers, and alert brows, and their backs are marked with high-contrast chevrons or stripes.

Riftails’ arboreal life means lean muscle and good protein. They make a valuable source of crucial fats, which they store before the hibernal season.
