Fletchbird
(NEEDS UPDATE)
Fletchbirds are fast, low-flying birds known for erratic flight and sudden dives. They have wings resembling broken arrows, and feed on glimmervoles and other small creatures. Fletchbirds are pigeon-sized with angular, blade-shaped wings and primary feathers that resemble cracked obsidian. Their flight is sudden, twitchy, and unpredictable. Their feathers are patterned like barbed arrows or fracture lines, usually dark with pale edging. Their beaks are short and hooked.
Fletchbirds are standard fowl, providing lean bird meat perfect for a personal or small shared meal. They’re common targets for young fels practicing their aim, and their sharp, obsidian-like feathers are valuable for crafting arrowheads or fine carving tools.
A tiny, hyper-metabolic hover-avian adapted to the 30-hour day. They feed on high-sugar nectar from Cradlebane or Shockspout, dusting their aerodynamic, needle-like feathers with pollen as they dive from bloom to bloom.
