Shroudberries

Shroudberries are dusty purple berries that grow on thorny vines with silvery leaves. They carry the faint scent of roses and old paper, often referred to as the Loveless-Letter’s Berry. These berries cause heart failure via slow paralysis, providing a euphoric high at first. If not expelled within the first three hours, they are lethal. They grow in darker forest clearings among their harmless, edible cousins, Violetberries, which notably grow on green, thorn-less vines. The lethal Shroudberries and their harmless Violetberry cousins ripen and are foraged with extreme caution in Midsusurrous.
