Hackbed

Hackbed is a thistle-like plant with vibrant purple flowers, it has long and thin roots that are sweet after being cooked. Hackbed root is often boiled into a syrup or fermented into a mild alcohol. The plant’s thorns make it painful to harvest, and it grows under the shelter of Violetberry bushes. The root is harvested in Susurrous after the plant's thorns have died back, revealing its sweetened flesh.
