Cryptblossom

(NEEDS UPDATE)

Cryptblossom is sacred funerary herb that keeps corpses from rotting quickly. It has small, chalk-white flowers with papery petals and a wiry grey stem. It’s often placed in wrappings or over the mouth and eyes of the dead. It can also be ground into a powder and scattered over a corpse or wound site, or crushed and burned to mask the scent of blood during siege or spoilage during travel. It loses potency quickly if picked too early or exposed to sunlight. Its chalk-white flowers can be ground into a white pigment for dye or paint. It rows in clusters on near shaded crags. This funerary herb must be harvested at the peak of its Solstice bloom to retain its preserving potency.
