Shockspout

Shockspout is a deep, black-skinned taproot with white, crisp flesh. It grows in dark, loamy soil and has a refreshing, water chestnut-like flavor. It’s eaten raw for hydration or chopped into salads. The crisp root is at its most refreshing when harvested during Solstice.
